Legend has it that on Tempest Day 4242 Earth Reckoning, Imperial Navies of the once great Galactic Central Authority, stationed along the inner borders of an empire at the peak of its peaceful existence, were suddenly and violently attacked. Until this time, humankind considered themselves the sole sentient space-faring civilization in the galaxy, and likely the universe. No evidence of an alien presence or imprint had ever been revealed.
Within days, the once ever-present communications between the hundreds of thousands of worlds within the GCA were silenced. The golden age of the GCA was at an end, and a time of struggle ensued. Of the details, little is known of this time, much has been lost. Tales spread of incredible epic battles over contested star systems.
